Safety Award

The N.C. Department of Labor’s Safety Awards Program recognizes private and public firms throughout the state that achieve and maintain good safety records. The program is designed to stimulate interest in accident prevention and to promote safety in the workplace by providing an incentive to employers and employees to maintain a safe and healthful workplace.

In operation since 1946, the program now extends to more than 3,300 firms, and about 2,000 awards are presented annually. Two types of awards are administered through the program: Annual Safety Awards and Million-Hour Awards.

Annual Safety Award

To qualify for an annual safety award, a firm must:

• Have had no fatalities during the calendar year at the site or location for which the award was given; and
  
• Have maintained an incidence rate at least 50 percent below the average for its particular industry group.

Steele Electrical Contractors is licensed in NC, SC and VA for commercial and industrial projects. With over 100 convenience stores completed, we have extensive experience in electrical service placement, interior lighting design and optimal fixture selection. We focus our residential division in NC; specifically to New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties. We provide all electrical service from new home construction to remodels and general repairs.

• Have spent many hours studying the lighting and surge protection market to provide our customers with the best system for their needs; this includes the UPS type back-up systems
  
• Versed in sales and installation of back-up generator systems for any application
  
• Currently involved in concept design and installation of solar power installations for convenience store application
